“My ongoing four-hour durational Elegies are a sequence of lyric poems which bridge life and afterlife, the living and the dead, heaven and earth, my personal history and my country’s history. By using dovetailing images and gestures, the body occurs as a live elegy in space and time. The performance presents itself as poetry in duration and space.”

Elegy 8: The Pacific Ocean explores displacement and the imagined replacement created by loss and longing. The Pacific Ocean as installation uses a ball of yarn that will be unravelled by the performance artist and her participants. All will “walk on water”.
